Inission - Creating an Inclusive and Innovative Conference That Engages All Participants

Inission has successfully increased participant engagement before, during and after their 'Involve' event by using the Vocean platform. Vocean provides process support for idea generation, collaboration and consensus building where new perspectives and solutions are discussed and handled in an efficient and time-saving way. Before the conference, Inission collected input from the public on LinkedIn that linked to a Vocean activity where people could contribute tips and experiences to promote inclusion, equality and diversity. The conference began with a compilation of the 50 contributions that had come in to inspire further discussions. All speakers asked quick exploratory questions to listeners during their presentations to capture participants' current perspectives. It made a difference when speakers asked questions to the audience, since it is usually the audience that only asks questions to the speakers. The results were presented in real-time in various charts. All speakers also initiated group discussions after their presentations using the Vocean platform. First, each participant got to think individually about the question and enter their thoughts and ideas via their mobile phone. Then the group discussed and enriched the proposals and concluded by individually liking the three best solutions within the group via their mobile phones. The results were then presented directly on the big screen via Vocean's word clouds and lists of all groups' contributions. Each main speaker for the day could therefore directly conduct a dialogue about the collective result, but also click through and see what each table had produced as their main solutions/proposals and ask them to deepen their thinking.
